September 6, TAUNT, 3/6
The Wordle Postgame Report is a brief analysis of a game of Wordle, the five-letter-word guessing game now owned by the New York Times. If you do not play Wordle, Indignity encourages you to please skip this. The existence of the Wordle Postgame Report not constitute an endorsement of playing Wordle, not playing Wordle, or of the New York Times.
MY STILL-SLEEPY brain took forever, or a few minutes, to come up with an opener I hadn't already used, and when I finally went with WORLD, it had nothing in it. But PAINT changed the color from gray to green on three letters: the A, N, and T. It took no mental effort at all to see that what went after the A would be a U, and barely a moment of thought to decide to put another T in the front, for TAUNT. All green, so easily done it seemed like mockery.
The Wordle Postgame Report will be posted semi-regularly on the website of the Indignity newsletter, or possibly even daily if people turn out to want to read it.
