The Wordle Postgame Report is a brief analysis of a game of Wordle, the five-letter-word guessing game now owned by the New York s. If you do not play Wordle, Indignity encourages you to please skip this item. The existence of the Wordle Postgame Report does not constitute an endorsement of playing Wordle, of not playing Wordle, or of the New York Times.

IT FELT LIKE PURGE would be a good starter word—a gamble on differentiation, by playing a U so early. On those terms, it didn't really work: the U came up gray. But the P and the R came up yellow. Where did they want to be? Not together at the beginning; the target couldn't start with PR-. I slid them around mentally. They felt little magnets, with matching poles, pushing apart if I tried to mash them too close to each other. The magnets flipped places. CREPE—no, while testing the rare-ish U, I'd eliminated the E. CRAMP? Green, green, green, green, green. Other players were hitting a long, wide chute trying to solve for CRA-, but with the P in hand, it was quick and painless. Not even a twinge of trouble.

The Wordle Postgame Report will be posted semi-regularly on the website of the Indignity newsletter, or possibly even daily if people turn out to want to read it.
