The Titanic and the New York, within an ace of colliding with each other at Southampton on Wednesday 10th April 1912. As Titanic left her berth, her wake caused the liner SS New York, which was docked nearby, to break away from her moorings, where upon she was drawn dangerously close to Titanic, before a tugboat towed New York away. The incident delayed Titanic's departure for about 30 minutes. (Photo by Daily Mirror/Mirrorpix via Getty Images)

July 10, BERTH, 4/6

The Wordle Postgame Report is a brief analysis of at game of Wordle, the five-letter-word guessing game now owned by the New York Times. If you do not play Wordle, Indignity encourages you to please skip this item. The existence of the Wordle Postgame Report does not constitute an endorsement of playing Wordle, of not playing Wordle, or of the New York Times.

LIKE A MINIGOLF hole with an unfriendly cup. SPLAT got a yellow hen THROW got a yelllow TH and a green R, putting it inches from the target: it had to be  _ _ R T H. The first, straight-line guess was BIRTH, but the green B was followed by a grey I. There would be no hacking around with MIRTH and GIRTH, just the resignation of typing in BERTH for the tap-in.

The Wordle Postgame Report will be posted semi-regularly on the website of the Indignity newsletter, or possibly even daily if people turn out to want to read it.
