And Jeff Bezos smiles. All this plays into his plans for eliminating conventional stores entirely, by (1) having you buy stuff online and (2) having you shop at stores where there's no need to check out, because cameras and other sensors monitor your every move, and you can't even enter without "scanning in" and having a credit card on file. Strategy 1 is already very far along, obviously, and strategy 2 is coming along nicely:
