I'm utterly delighted by (1) the image from "Dr. Strangelove", which is probably the most hideously hilarious film ever made, (2) the phrase "when boomers trained to be active participants in the civic life of the apocalypse", which exquisitely captures the absurdity of ducking-and-covering against hydrogen bombs, and (3) the dissection of "friendly reminders", which are indeed generally not friendly at all.
