How is there not a channel devoted to snarky Christmas songs? It's an ample category, things like Tom Lehrer's "Christmas song", Stan Freberg's "Green Chri$tma$", Allan Sherman's "12 gifts of Christmas", Al Yankovic's "Christmas at Ground Zero", The Bobs' entire album "Too many Santas" ("50 kilowatt tree" and "Christmas in L.A." are particularly excellent), and many more. Much of the popular culture around Christmas is very smarmy, so it's elicited plenty of snark (a thinking brain's natural defense against smarm), including snarky songs. I might actually listen to such a channel!

(Or maybe there is such a channel. I wouldn't know, because I pay little attention to streaming - I don't have enough time to listen to all the recordings I own. I rely on fine publications like "Indignity" to keep me up-to-date about these things.)

An interesting list of channels which, to me, only proves we forfeited personal taste when we abandoned LPs and CDs in favor of streaming. Personally I'll be annoying the family with a shuffled collection of the following: "Tis the Season for Los Strait Jackets," "Reggae Christmas," "The Brian Setzer Orchestra Boogie Woogie Christmas," "Alligator Stomp Cajun Christmas," "Blue Yule," and Dust-to-Digital's "Where Will You Be Christmas Day?" followed up by the best Christmas song ever, Robert Earl Keen"s "Merry Christmas from the Family." Hurry down to your local used CD store, Goodwill, or old uncle's house and enjoy!

My partner makes a couple of holiday streaming stations every year, one for moms (more traditional stuff) and one for "freaks" (weird/fun holiday music). They're both a little less specialized than these but a good time nonetheless. https://www.xmastimeradio.com/

I have a hard time with Christmas music after a stint in a movie theater, but I could definitely get behind instrumentals for Christmas
