Worth mentioning that when people talk about all the energy that electric cars are using, they are essentially marking as zero the energy used by gas cars - in the form of oil, pulled from the ground in remote regions of the world at great expense in the form of energy expended and ecology destroyed, shipped around the world to refineries where, again, massive amounts of energy are used to turn it into gas, plastics, propane, butane, all the rest of the anes and bunker fuel to power the tankers to bring more crude in and the products out, then loaded at ports onto gas burning trucks to be towed in the least efficient method of goods transport all over the 3000 mile wide US.

And while a good portion of the energy balance that electrics charge off of comes from fossil sources, that number goes down as adoption of renewables goes up, and even a massive coal power plant is a liiiiitle bit more efficient at turning that fuel to useable energy than a single car's ICE engine, even with line losses.

To be clear - this nation should be looking to get rid of ALL cars and the massive ten ton pickups Genocide Joe is so happy to stump for to convince all the chuds that an electric car is no-homo are certainly a huge unforced error and wasted opportunity to enforce size, speed, safety etc in a new market segment where there are few ossified interests.

But when someone - someone in the famously leftist and disinterested New York Times - is trying to convince you that moving away from gasoline in US personal transport is a bad thing? You should probably ask them where else they've written for, where they got this copy they're regurgitating, and who funded them.

Fuck crypto though. Completely. Our generations Passenger Pigeons. Just a massive, pointless destruction of nature for zero benefit that future generations will look at with disgust (as they make their version of the same asshead mistakes)
